Dear Resident We are appealing for potential witnesses and information as part of our investigation into an assault in Watford. It happened near to Waterfields Recreation Ground in the early hours of Wednesday 6 August. Police were called by the ambulance service just before 2am to report that a man had been assaulted on steps leading down to the canal from Beechen Grove. The man, aged in his 40s, was approached by several people before he suffered wounds to his leg, believed to have been caused by a sharp object.
