Dear Members, Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team. What’s been happening: This week has been a busy and productive week for the area! Our sergeant and officers have been proactively patrolling the area and on one day 1 parking ticket was issued, 2 vehicle pursuits, 1 bike failing to stop and another vehicle was stopped the driver decided to risk their own safety by plugging their own seat belt in put placed this behind them. Further checks identified the driver with no MOT. 2 fines issued for 1 driver. CPW’s have been served to those causing Anti-social behaviour in the area and these individuals are being monitored and we will escalate this to CPNs. In addition to, another 10 bags of cannabis were intercepted and seized from Royal mail. A stolen vehicle was also located on Cowley road and seized. Areas being raised with concerns are being checked and considered at part of our patrols to reduce any issues and anti-social behaviour. We are submitting any flytipping offences occurring on the area. You can also do this by using the Fix my Street app. We are also aware of concerns around Caravans popping up on the area and being left abandoned. We are currently working on this. If anyone has any information to the ownership of the vehicles or persons involved, please sent this in to the below details.Parking tickets have been issued on the following roads MANOR FARM, ROMA ROAD, COWLEY ROAD and MALMESBURY ROAD. This is a total of 15 tickets issued in 6 days! Parking enforcement have also been contacted to conduct patrols around the Yew Tree. They will be attending looking at those using zigzags, yellow lines and those trying to avoid paying for parking in the main car park. There are still many more tickets to be served to those parking inconsiderately. DVLA has been requested to attend some of the roads on our area. Are you noticing more signs and clamps being put in place? This is because they will not only conduct their own patrols to ensure road users are complying to the road tax but, we have been asking them to target various roads on the area where more complaints are coming in around the vehicles on the road. Our off Roaders have been requested again to support with other park and road areas of concerns on the area. If you have any information or intelligence relating to this please let us know. This will assist us in conducting targeted patrols. Street Watch: We are still needing more community members to sign up for Street watch. Are you wanting to support your community? Why not join up to our street watch programme. If you are interested or questions on how this works please do not hesitate to contact the below details and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Empowered steps: Sunday 24th August at 10:30 in Oaklands Recreational Ground. Meeting point near the skate park.
