Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working hard in Pontypridd Town Centre targeting shoplifting, Anti-Social Behaviour and Drug Use offence to ensure that the Town Centre is a safe and welcoming place for everyone and to ensure that offender are brought to Justice.
This week Neighbourhood officers have stopped and searched two persons within the Pontypridd Town Centre under the Misuse of Drug Act. Both persons have been arrested with on received an Adult Conditional Caution and the other being charged to court for drug offences.
A prolific female shoplifter has been arrested and charged with numerous theft offences from Pontypridd Town and has now received a prison sentence for her crimes.
PC Liam Noyce the Neighbourhood Beat Manager for Pontypridd Town Centre conducted a visit to some of the retailers who are targeted by shoplifter and provide target hardening and to reinforce out commitment to bringing offender to justice for their actions and crimes.
Pontypridd Outreach Team continue with patrols in the Town Centre to target our prolific offenders, support our communities most vulnerable and direct to the best partner agency to provide that help and support there and then by completing referrals on the street or in private if necessary. The outreach team are made up of the following services Dafodyl, Probation Services, RCT Community Warden and ASB Team, Barod Services, Pobl Group, Housing First, Trivallis, British Transport Police and the Job Centre. These session run weekly and if you see us and need support come and approach the team who will be happy to help.
