Dear Resident

Between 0450hrs 14ht August a vehicle had interference which occurred in Buey Hill

At the material times, the Victim has been at home when they have heard a car door being opened on the driveway. He has looked out onto the drive and seen the SUSPECT around his partners vehicle . The SUSPECT has made off. After checking his cameras, the SUSPECT has been seen to get into the vehicles passenger side front door and get out shortly after, no items were taken from the vehicle and nothing was damaged. Vehicle was left unlocked.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
