Your Rural Community Police Officers from Riseley would like to inform you that there has been a recent increase in thefts from vehicles in the Wixams area. Please remain vigilant and take the following precautions to help protect your property:
π Vehicle Security Tips 1. Always lock your vehicle β even if you're just stepping away for a moment. 2. Close all windows and sunroofs β thieves can exploit even small openings. 3. Remove valuables β never leave items like bags, electronics, or tools visible inside. 4. Hide charging cables β they suggest a device may be hidden in the vehicle. 5. Use a steering wheel lock β a visible deterrent that adds an extra layer of security. 6. Install a car alarm or immobiliser β if not already fitted, consider upgrading. 7. Park in well-lit areas β lighting deters opportunistic thieves. 8. Use driveway security posts or bollards β especially for high-value vehicles. ________________________________________ π Driveway & Roadside Security 1. Install motion-activated lights β sudden illumination can deter criminals. 2. Use CCTV or smart doorbell cameras β visible surveillance is a strong deterrent. 3. Keep hedges and fences low β avoid giving thieves cover to operate unseen. 4.
