Bail Fail and Prison Recall: Piccadilly Gardens Officers Strike Twice in a Day |
||
Police officers from the Piccadilly Gardens Team have arrested two individuals today during proactive patrols in the city centre.
The first arrest involved a man wanted on recall to prison, detained without incident following a targeted stop by officers. The second individual was apprehended for breaching strict court bail conditions, which prohibited them from being within 100 metres of Piccadilly Gardens.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by the dedicated Piccadilly Gardens policing team to crack down on criminal activity and maintain a visible presence in the busy public area.
Sergeant Jon Wyatt of the Piccadilly Gardens Team said:
“Our officers are out here every day, not just reacting to incidents but actively seeking out those who think they can ignore the law. Today’s arrests show that no matter how bombastic someone’s behaviour may be, if they break the rules, we will find them and take action.”
Greater Manchester Police are urging members of the public to continue reporting suspicious behaviour in the Piccadilly Gardens area by calling 101 or using the Live Chat function on the GMP website. | ||
