Crime Alert - Hare Coursing & Night Poaching

Dear Residents,

As the harvest season draws to a close, Humberside Police are already receiving reports of hare coursing and night poaching taking places across our rural areas. Hare coursing and night poaching as pre-cursor offences to other inquisitive crimes such as thefts of farm/plant machinery.

Your local officers along with Rural Task Force officers continue to patrol hotspots but information from you the public gives us the best opportunity to catch offenders in the act.

We will continue to deter and disrupt criminality involved in Rural & Wildlife Crime to protects farmers, landowners and the rural community along with the wildlife to protect them from acts of cruelty.

If you witness suspicious behaviour whether it is suspected hare coursing #OpGalileo to thefts from farm yards please contact Police on 999 and if possible please give the call handlers a What 3 Words location.

Thank you

Humberside Police
