Knowle Weekly Update - 13/08/25 |
||
Hello,
This week we have conducted a number of Speedwatch’s around the different villages, sending out warning letters to all those who have been caught by our volunteers. We often get reports from the community that speeding vehicles are one of the biggest issues around Knowle. We are hoping to add in new locations to try and deter speeding and educate those who are found to be driving in excess of the speed limit. We also hosted another beat surgery at the Knowle Masonic Centre where we are continuing to forge new links in the community. We set up this beat surgery every month so come along to the next one to ask any questions or raise any concerns.
What crime has happened in the last 9 Days?
Crime prevention advice: There has been an increase in the number of burglaries over the past week. There are two different burglaries that we are noticing: Car key Burglary or quick grabs. Offenders are snapping the lock of the rear door to gain entry in both cases. To prevent this from happening, we highly recommend anti-snap locks to be installed on all accessible doors to your property. These prevent the barrel of your lock from being snapped and allowing an offender to walk right in. Anti-snap locks are easily fitted by just changing the barrel of your lock. Look out for the symbol shown below to make sure your locks are anti-snap.
CCTV is a really useful tool for us to use in investigations as it allows us to see the offence happening, any offenders and what they are wearing or a direction of travel in their escape. If you haven’t already, sign up to our CCTV registry to receive alerts when your footage may help us with incidents in your area - CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police
