||
Two men have been jailed after they assaulted a teenager with a weapon in Biddulph. Samuel Clarke, 25, from Biddulph, and Lewis Tether, 26, from Stoke-on-Trent, were both sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (11 August). Clarke was jailed for three years and nine months after he pleaded guilty to section 18 – wounding with intent and Tether was jailed for four years after he pleaded guilty to the same offence plus possession of a bladed article in a public place. It comes after we were called to Woodland Street, Biddulph, at 8.10pm on Tuesday 7 January following reports that a teenager had been assaulted with an axe. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged. Detective Constable Andrew Percy, from Crime Investigation Department, worked on the case. He said: “Violence has no place on Staffordshire streets and I hope this sentencing shows that we will work hard to protect communities and secure convictions against those responsible.” | ||
