Derbyshire Police Cadets - Annual Attestation Ceremony |
||
🌟 Cadets shine at attestation 🌟
Throughout the year our cadets show unwavering commitment, from attending weekly sessions and supporting community events, to representing the force at high-profile occasions such as remembrance parades; the cadets never fail to go above and beyond. This special event therefore recognises all of this, by awarding the cadets for their dedication and achievements over the past year, while welcoming new recruits into cadet ranks.
The attestation evening began with speeches from ACC Shooter, PCC Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts, Mick Urwin from the National Volunteer Police Cadets, and both the current and former High Sheriffs of Derbyshire, who have all experienced first-hand the resilience, commitment, and positive impact of the cadets. A wide range of awards were then presented. Junior cadets who’d completed their first year received their cap badges and certificates, while those turning 18 and graduating from the programme were honoured with commemorative challenge coins. Special recognition was also given to the Section Cadets of the Year and the Divisional Cadet of the Year, celebrating those who have shined in their service. Promotions were also announced with new cadet sergeants and cadet inspectors awarded, ready to step into leadership roles from September.
The evening also featured heartfelt speeches from cadets themselves, many of whom spoke about the personal growth, friendships, and confidence they’ve gained through the programme. They also highlighted just how much their leaders had supported and encouraged them to continue this development, with it evident just how much passion and drive each cadet had. The evening also saw the formal handover of the High Sheriff Cadet role, as last year’s cadet passed the baton to this year’s appointee, in preparation of the formal duties ahead of them. The evening concluded with new cadets proudly attesting to join the scheme, marking the beginning of their own journey. We’d like to say a huge thank you to our dedicated volunteer cadet leaders, whose tireless efforts make events like this possible and ensure the continued success of the programme. We’d also like to congratulate all our cadets: past, present, and future, for everything you’ve achieved and all that’s still to come.
