🚨 HOAX CALLS WASTE LIVES – THINK BEFORE YOU DIAL 🚨

Every time someone makes a hoax call to the police, they’re putting lives at risk.

Last week alone, GMP officers in Heywood responded to several false reports – taking up time and resources that could have been used to help people in genuine emergencies.

➡️ Hoax calls are not a joke. They are a criminal offence.

Anyone found deliberately misleading emergency services can face:

• 🚔 Arrest

• ⚖️ Prosecution

• 💷 A fine or even a prison sentence

More importantly, while officers respond to false reports, real victims may be left waiting.
