Op Jin: tackling antisocial behaviour together

Operation Jin is a proactive, multi-agency initiative aimed at tackling antisocial behaviour in Banbury. Bringing together local authorities, police, and community partners, the operation seeks to restore public confidence and improve safety.

One of the key successes of Operation Jin has been the implementation of orders for those involved in consistent antisocial behaviour and harassment. Community Protection Warnings (CPW) and Community Protection Notices (CPN) have been key in stopping repeat offending and preventing disruptive behaviour.

The operation also tackled environmental concerns, including the removal of a tent that had been illegally pitched on privately owned land. This was carried out in partnership with local council teams, with a key focus on enabling support services to connect with and assist the individual involved. 

Working together with partners ensured the neighbourhood policing team were better positioned to offer tailored help and ensure the person received the care and resources they needed.

The journey doesn’t stop here though; the neighbourhood policing team continue to patrol hotspot areas. We also want to reinforce the message that antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated and that support is available.
