Know Where Your Children Are This Summer

The summer holidays are a great time for young people to relax, have fun, and enjoy time with friends. But without structure or supervision, some may be drawn into risky behaviour — including anti-social behaviour or even criminal activity.

Why it matters:

  • Young people involved in ASB can face long-term consequences.
  • Drug use, vandalism, and street crime often start with peer pressure and boredom.
  • Communities suffer when ASB goes unchecked — and so do the young people involved.
  • What you can do:

  • Talk to your children about the risks and consequences of ASB.
  • Encourage positive activities — sports, youth clubs, volunteering, or creative hobbies.
  • Know where they are, who they’re with, and what they’re doing.
  • If you suspect ASB or criminal activity, report it:
    • Emergency: Call 999
    • Non-emergency: Call 101
    • Report online: www.gmp.police.uk
    • Crimestoppers (anonymous): www.crimestoppers-uk.org or call 0800 555 111
  • Let’s work together to keep our young people safe, supported, and on the right path this summer.
