The summer holidays are a great time for young people to relax, have fun, and enjoy time with friends. But without structure or supervision, some may be drawn into risky behaviour — including anti-social behaviour or even criminal activity. Why it matters: Young people involved in ASB can face long-term consequences.Drug use, vandalism, and street crime often start with peer pressure and boredom.Communities suffer when ASB goes unchecked — and so do the young people involved. What you can do: Talk to your children about the risks and consequences of ASB.Encourage positive activities — sports, youth clubs, volunteering, or creative hobbies.Know where they are, who they’re with, and what they’re doing. If you suspect ASB or criminal activity, report it:- Emergency: Call 999
- Non-emergency: Call 101
- Report online: www.gmp.police.uk
- Crimestoppers (anonymous): www.crimestoppers-uk.org or call 0800 555 111
Let’s work together to keep our young people safe, supported, and on the right path this summer. |
