We’ve received several concerns about vehicles being parked on the footpath along Coastal Road in Burniston. This creates an unnecessary obstruction and forces pedestrians — including children, parents with prams, and those using mobility aids — to step into the road to get around, which is both dangerous and unacceptable.
The footpath is there to ensure the safety of all pedestrians. When it’s blocked, it puts lives at risk.
Please be aware that North Yorkshire Police have been informed and will be taking action against vehicles causing unnecessary obstruction. We ask all drivers to park considerately and legally, ensuring footpaths are kept clear at all times. Let’s work together to keep the village safe and accessible for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation.
