Crime Update and Community Event |
||
Good morning from the Coldhurst & Westwood Neighbourhood Policing Team I Just want to keep you up to date on the Local Neighbourhood Issues and events coming up in the next week or two. Crime wise last week we had several vehicles broken in to around large car park areas such as the Royal Oldham Hospital and the Premier Inn car park on Chadderton Way, we also has a couple of incidents at the Audi dealership on Chadderton Way where cars were broken in to and several parts were stolen from each of the vehicles. We want our community to be safe and secure from crime and we recommend not leaving any items on show in your vehicles when parked up in public areas, as it attracts criminals towards your vehicle even if its relatively unexpensive items such as coats and carrier bags, as criminal will want to break in on the off chance there’s money or other valuables hidden inside. Check all your cars are locked and the keys are kept safe and if possible, put a steering lock on, as it will deter thieves from actually taking your vehicle. On a Lighter note, our friends at the Wonderlust Bistro located at the junction of West End Street and Library Lane are holding a Green Horizons Day on the 12th August 5pm – 9pm which is set up to help the rehabilitation and support of young offenders and other members of society that need help and opportunities to live better lives. I’ve attached their poster advertising the event which some of our team will be attending to offer advice and answer questions from the public. Please see poster for details: Rgds Martin
