Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of an attempt burglary that occurred on Sunday 8th August 2025 in the early hours of the morning. The suspect used a blow torch on the lock and then snapped the cylinder to attempt to gain entry. No entry was gained on this occasion.
A further report was also received in the area of a suspicious incident, where an unknown person, dressed in a gray tracksuit with a face covering and wearing gloves was seen on some doorbell CCTV footage between 0400-0415hrs on Sunderland Way / Harley Head.
If you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between 0330-0430hrs 3/8/25 to see if you had any activations. If you had any activations linked to these reports please reply to this message and a link will be sent for you to upload the footage.
If you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks.
It is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Reference number 13250441536
