Dear Residents
An update from your local Sherbourne Police Team.
Firstly, Thank you to the residents that attended our forum meeting at the Coundon Social Club. These meetings are a great way of letting us know what issues you have in the local community and as they are attended by the local councillors they can advise on what the council can do to resolve problems.
We will advertise when our next forum will take place in the coming weeks, so watch this space.
WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?
We have had a report of a burglary in Sunnyside Close. Unfortunately, the offenders gained access to the property and made off with the residents vehicle. Please be vigilant, ensure your property is secure when you go out, even if it is a warm day close your windows.
We continue to receive reports of shoplifting at the Alvis Retail Park. If you are out and about at that location please report anything suspicious to the store security team or our 101 reporting line. Officers will be at the Retail Park conducting mobile and foot patrols. This is also due to the area being vulnerable to anti-social behaviour.
A theft of a motor vehicle has been reported in Rosslyn Avenue. The vehicle was stolen without it’s keys. Please ensure your vehicle is secure when you leave it. Most vehicle offenders are opportunists and will try car door handles in and attempt to steal.
FIX MY STREET
Can I remind you about the council app called ‘FIX MY STREET’. This is a really useful app to report to the council about fly tipping. The app is easy to use and once reported, the waste is picked up in a timely manner. It has proved an invaluable tool to try and combat fly tipping. It can also be used to report abandoned vehicles and fallen trees. Parks and green spaces are also included.
GET INVOLVED Street watch is a community patrol initiative that helps you make a difference where you live. Street watch gives you and your community an opportunity to keep your area safe, including just walking round your neighbourhood, which can really help. Local police keep in regular contact with street watch members to share information and work in partnership with you. You will also be patrolling with your local PCSO’s once a month.
