OLD KENT ROAD NEWSLETTER - JULY 2025

Firstly, headed by PC Gilbert, the team collaborated with other partners for Operation Kubo. A traffic stop initiative that resulted in four arrests and two vehicle seizures on Old Kent Road.

•    2 were in the UK working illegally.
•    1 was in the country illegally.
•    1 was a Romanian national who was wanted for murder.

While on routine local patrols, PC Williams and PC Gilbert seized fifteen snap bags of cannabis from an individual during a stop and search at Northfield House. The individual was subsequently arrested for possession with intent to supply. Meanwhile, PC Tubbs made two further arrests while out on tasking duties.

With the team's PCs keeping busy, the PCSOs focused their efforts on building up our local Met Engage network. Met Engage is the Met's new platform for surveying public concerns and providing another way to contact your local team. Met Engage has the potential to be a highly effective tool, but its success depends on local residents signing up. So, help your local team by spreading the word!

Lastly, due to local concerns and frequent antisocial behaviour, the team have continued to maintain a presence at Surrey Canal Path and Colegrove Road. Despite the progress made, this remains an ongoing issue that will continue to be a ward priority.

Our next ward panel meeting will be held online using teams
at 6:30pm on Wednesday 20th of August 2025.
In the meantime, if you wish to contact the team
in confidence to discuss any issues or concerns
that you may have, we can be contacted at:
