Topping Fold day of action

A community action day took place on the Topping Fold/Fairfield estate on Tuesday, July 29 to help clean up the area with free skips, waste disposal and litter picking.

Arranged by Bury Council in partnership with the police and other organisations in the area, volunteers gathered at the Topping Fold Community Centre. There were free children’s activities, food and drinks for residents to enjoy. The council hosts around five action days a year, giving residents the chance to dispose of unwanted items responsibly, raise any issues and get to know their tenant liaison officers and neighbourhood policing team in person. Teams of both adults and children where given grab sticks and bin bags and went around every street collecting all the litter they could see. The event proved to be a great success.
