#Safe4Summer / Operation HALT

Officers from Whitefield’s Neighbourhood Policing Team along with GMP’s Road Policing Unit, worked in partnership yesterday 29/07/25 with the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) and HM Revenue and Customs in conducting a routine traffic operation in Whitefield. This comes following concerns reported from the local community around issues including speeding and anti-social behaviour (ASB) on the roads.

During the operation, officers stopped over 100 vehicles where a total of 46 Traffic Offence Reports were completed for a range of offences including no insurance, defective vehicles, speeding and number plate discrepancies. There was also one arrest for drug offences after the driver tested positive for cannabis at the roadside. 

These checks are vital in ensuring vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and not being used to enable crime or ASB, in turn keeping members of our community safe.
