Our local safety partner, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, are currently recruiting on-call firefighters for Tutbury Community Fire Station.
We’re helping them to spread the word in the local community, so if you know someone who would be interested in the chance to become a firefighter please pass this on.
Details about the role: On-call firefighters are members of the local community who are paid to respond to incidents from home or work instead of being based at the station.
They receive the same training and attend the same types of incidents as full-time firefighters, but they work their on-call hours flexibly around other jobs, childcare and hobbies.
The local crew: At the moment there are 9 crew working on-call at Tutbury.
When they’re not on-call the crew work in a range of roles including a farm shop assistant, emergency care support worker, bakery manager, sports massage therapist and software quality assurance tester, fitting their on-call hours around our existing commitments.
Meet the local crew on drill night: If you’re interested in the role and want to know more, come down to Tutbury Community Fire Station to chat with the crew on drill night between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday 31 July and Thursday 7 August.
