The unauthorised encampment on Warfelton Field have now left. This field is owned by Cornwall Council who are responsible for any enforcement at this location. Cornwall Council served their direction to leave however this was not adhered to by the deadline of 16:00 on Sunday 27th July. They therefore started eviction proceedings, which would need to await for an available court date. On Monday 28th July the Saltash Neighbourhood Team gathered evidence in relation to significant disruption and significant distress caused by the unauthorised encampment, and with the confirmation that Cornwall Council had given their direction confirming that the encampment was there without consent, have utilised powers under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to issue a Notice to Leave. Failure to leave by the deadline could result in arrest and vehicle seizure. This notice was successful, and the unauthorised encampment left overnight.
