Arrests made in Castleford

On Thursday 17th July 2025 at around 1pm on Healdfield Road, Castleford, our Roads Policing colleagues sighted a suspicious motorcycle being ridden. The single male rider on sighting police, abandoned the motorcycle and made good their escape. The motorcycle was on false plates and was stolen in the Milton Keynes area. A witness described the male having been picked up by a car to assist in escape.

Neighbourhood officers; PC Shaw, PC Skidmore and PC Doherty began a search of the area and a vehicle was sighted matching the description. Two males were detained from within. A search of the persons and vehicle was conducted. An adult male was arrested by PC Shaw for offences of going equipped for theft, and possession of an offensive weapon. A second male was also arrested for going equipped to commit theft and for theft of motor vehicle and disqualified driving. The second male matched the description of the motorcycle rider.

The vehicle they were hiding in was also seized as a third person, the driver, had seemingly ran away and left it behind.

Both males are released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
