Op Canter - ASB Involving Youths in the City Centre

Good Evening all,

Some of you will have noticed high visibility officers in the area the last several days, with a number of these officers being from the Northern Quarter Neighbourhood Team.

This is nothing to worry about and is all part of our Operation named Canter.

In previous years GMP officers from the City Centre have been dealing with numerous issues involving youths upon breaking up the summer. In efforts to tackle this officers are working in partnership with local businesses and security to ensure that ASB activity is kept to a minimal with great success over the last several days of working this operation.

We have seen a drastic decrease this year compared previous years in youth related ASB activity upon the final weeks of school breaking up time. 

We will continue to ensure that any issues from youths causing ASB activity around the City Centre is dealt with promptly and appropriately.
