Local Priorities Fraud Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Fraud, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Cash Point distraction fraud

A victim was scammed yesterday morning at the cash point outside the post office at 822 Green Lane N21.

The victim went to the ATM to draw out some money when three males approached him and told him that he was parked on a bus lane and will get a ticket. Upon distracting the victim, the males swapped his debit card and money was drawn out at another local ATM.

Please be mindful when drawing out money at cash points.

It comes in many different forms and across varying channels, whether that's through emails, phone calls or in person encounters. Some adults may be even more vulnerable to fraud or financial abuse, but it is something that everyone can be at risk of.
