Man detained after weapon seen in Coventry street

A man has been detained after officers were called to reports of a man with a weapon in Coventry this morning (16 Jul). 

The incident happened at around 11 am on North Avenue.

Officers quickly detained a 44-year-old man and he is currently in hospital for further assessment.

Extra officers will be in the area this evening to provide reassurance to the community.
