Knife Found By Police Community Support Officer |
||
Dear Resident,
Police Community support officer from Norbiton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a Knife Sweep at Kingston Cemetery today and a large kitchen knife was found and now been taken off the streets. Knife sweeps are conducted to help find bladed articles and other offensive weapons that could have been discarded or hidden in public places that can be used to harm the public or themselves.
We at Kingston Police are committed to getting knives and other weapons off our street and out of our public spaces to keep our neighbourhoods safe, if you happen to come across a knife or weapon make sure to call 101 and an officer will come to collect the item. Kingston is one of the safest boroughs, and we work hard to keep it that way. Levels of knife crime in the borough remain low.
Kingston Council partnered with the UK Home Office, Met Police and Words4Weapons who have installed a secure knife surrender bin at Chapel Mill Road. It’s part of a London-wide initiative funded by the Home Office to provide a safe and anonymous way for individuals to dispose of knives
Kind Regards, Norbiton Safer Neighbourhood Team | ||
