Male Arrested - Racially Aggravated Public Order

Wishing you a lovely week from the Town Hall Northern Quarter Neighbourhood Team.

On the evening of the 14th of July 2025, an officer from the Northern Quarter have been on patrol around the city centre when an individual has asked for officers assistance in dealing with an aggressive male being racially abusive towards another male individual.

This officer who was single crew at the time has quickly headed over to the location of this incident to locate this male offender still appearing to display volatile / threatening behaviour towards others, where it had then come to light that he had assaulted another male. The officers has quickly intervened, where the male was swiftly detained and handcuffed, before being arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order.

This male has since been interviewed and dealt with where he was now been charged on one count of assault and another count of section 4a public order. In such a diverse community such as Manchester any racial abuse towards members of public will not be tolerated and officers on this occasion have ensured that this offender has been swiftly dealt with.

Once again another positive outcome for our neighbourhood team for the Northern Quarter, again we appreciate your continued support over this busy period for our team with many events occurring over this summer.
