Theft from Motor Vehicle

There has been a recent spout of Theft from motor vehicles within the ward - with the main item stolen being number plates.

To help deter the theft of your number plates we advise you to look into getting some anti theft number plate screws (these are sold at you local car shops such as Halfords sometimes for as little as £3) 

the use of anti theft number plate screws is a great deterrent as it prevents these criminals from successfully stealing your number plate and putting it on another vehicle to commit further crime. 

Normal number plate screws: allow for the plate to be easily removed by ripping them away from the car leaving the number plate still whole and intact, allowing the criminal to walk away with your number plate, placing it on a different car of the same make and model and committing further crime. 

Anti theft number plate screws: when a vehicle has anti theft number plate screws on there number plate when a criminal tries to steal them it splits the number plate in half, therefore making it ineffective to the criminal who is stealing them as it prevents them from putting your number plate on another vehicle to commit further crime.
