Male Arrested In Northern Quarter

Good Morning all,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and the sun.

Once again, officers today have been working within the Northern Quarter area covering the Oasis events around Stevenson Square area. Amidst the extra officers, neighbourhood officers from Northern Quarter have been around on high visibility patrol to tackle any issues in and around Northern Quarter.

During our sweep of the area this evening officers have been paying particular attention to Spear Street around Noho and Night and Day, which has been a hot spot for individuals loitering causing ASB and taking drugs. 

Whilst detaining several males for the purpose of stop searches, we have identified one male wanted for domestic related assault, in which he has now since been detained and arrested on suspicion of section 39 assault, where he remains in custody to await questioning on the matter.

Officers will be remain on high visibility patrol this weekend due to the increased activity given the recent weather and events ongoing around the Northern Quarter area.
