Summer Crime Awareness

Hello everyone,

With the summer in full swing, the Met Police is urging residents to stay alert and help us keep our communities safe. Warmer weather brings more opportunities for criminals – but together, we can stop them.

Top Summer Crime Risks:
•    Unlocked doors and windows – Easy access for burglars.
•    Picnic & park thefts – Bags and phones left unattended.
•    Bike and scooter theft – Always secure with a strong lock.
•    Fraud and scams – Especially targeting tourists and online sales.

How You Can Help:
•    Lock doors, even when you’re home.
•    Don’t leave belongings visible in parks or cars.
•    Record serial numbers of valuables and register them: immobilise.com
•    Report anything suspicious to us immediately.

Let’s all enjoy the sunshine safely and keep crime out of our communities. Stay safe. Stay alert. Report crime.

A message from your local policing team:

“We're here to help you enjoy a safe and peaceful summer. Whether you're heading to the park, off on holiday, or just enjoying the sunshine at home - stay alert, look out for each other, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you see anything suspicious. Your awareness makes a real difference.”
