Good Morning Resident š Halloween Safety in Wolverhampton: A Message from West Midlands PoliceAs Halloween approaches, West Midlands Police in Wolverhampton would like to remind residents of a few simple tips to ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities safely and respectfully. Whether you're heading out trick-or-treating, attending an event, or staying home, we all play a part in keeping our communities safe and welcoming for all. š» For Trick-or-Treaters and Parents: Be Seen, Be Safe: Wear reflective clothing or carry a torch to stay visible to drivers, especially as nights draw in. Stay in Groups: Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Stay with your group and keep to well-lit streets. Respect Others: Only visit houses that are clearly taking part in Halloween. Look out for signs like decorations or a pumpkin in the window. If a home has a āNo Trick or Treatā sign, please respect that. Check Sweets: Parents should check all sweets and treats before children eat them. Avoid homemade items from strangers. Mind Your Manners: Be polite, say thank you, and avoid running across roads or onto peopleās property. š” For Residents: Taking Part? If you're happy to welcome trick-or-treaters, consider placing a pumpkin or Halloween decorations outside your door. Not Taking Part? Download and display a āNo Trick or Treatā poster from the West Midlands Police website to avoid unwanted callers. Stay Alert: Keep doors locked and outdoor lights on. Report any suspicious behaviour via 101 or in an emergency, call 999. š Our Patrols: Wolverhampton neighbourhood officers will be out and about during the Halloween period, engaging with the community and ensuring everyone is safe. Weāll be on hand to respond to any concerns and offer support where needed. ![]() š§ Community First: Halloween should be fun for all, but it's important to be considerateāparticularly of elderly residents, vulnerable individuals, or those who may find the night unsettling. Letās all do our bit to make it a safe and enjoyable evening. From all of us at West Midlands Police ā Wolverhampton, have a happy, safe, and respectful Halloween!
Come down to our Halloween Crime Prevention stand in the Wulfrun Centre of the 29th and we will have window posters for Trick or Treating available for you to take away! We will be located just outside Iceland. Please Share!ā WMNow is not suitable for reporting crimes ā 101, Online Webchat & WMP Website ā Non emergency crime reporting / check on the progress of your report | ||
