Local Priorities Anti-social behaviour - general Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Anti-social behaviour - general, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

ASB, dog fouling and nuisance bikes have all been acknowledged as a priority for local residents.
The ASB is constantly being dealt with by Police and we are improving the situation by engaging with local schools, attending the local youth club and directly engaging with the youths in the area and taking them home and speaking with parents where required. Some ASB offenders have been dealt with by Police and we will continue to do so.
Please continue to report any ASB in the area to PC Divers 30702.
Regarding dog fouling, this must be reported to Swale Council in order for any action to be taken. You can do this via this link:
https://swale.gov.uk/bins-littering-and-the-environment/littering/report-dog-fouling
The e-scooters and bikes are being seized where possible, but in order to identify the riders and to be able to visit them, please continue to report this with any information you have.
As your beat officer, I continue to hold regular drop in sessions, so please come and talk to me face to face if you would prefer, otherwise I can be contacted by MCV or email.
Please continue to report any offences or crimes by 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police.

The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 aims to put victims first, giving power to local people and enabling professionals to find the best solutions for their local area.

The act provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies with flexible tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to antisocial behaviour.

These include:

  • civil injunctions.
  • criminal behaviour orders.
  • public spaces protection orders.
  • community protection notices.
  • dispersal powers.
  • closure powers.

The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and antisocial behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.kent.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
