On Friday 4th July, a fire occurred in the corn fields of Upper Hill Farm in Chalford. The fire increased in size rapidly due to the weather on the day, which was windy and very dry. The corn fields were roughly 200 acres of land, which could have caused a lot of damage and loss of property. Luckily Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were able to contain and control the fire.
Please be careful when discarding cigarette ends, BBQ coals or anything heat related as the results can cause devastation and become uncontrollable.
It is believed a male was seen walking away from the scene of the fire. Please submit any information regarding this incident via 101 or the Gloucestershire Constabulary website quoting Incident 581 04/07/2025.
