Launch of Met Engage in West Dulwich

Met Engage and Neighbourhood Watch use the same platform  and I expect to meet with PCSO Middleton before the SNP meeting to discuss how to work together on a street by street, estate by estate exercise to ensure that the team have contacts across the ward for whenever incidents occur. I will wish to call on you to help with regard to your street.

You may have noticed that the Alert system allows you to sign up for a variety of services, including Get Safe On-line, Fraud Alert, Emergency services and other types of group - Road Watch, Dog watch, Cycle Watch etc.. Please take a look at your entry and sign up for all that is of interest. I will be making the same request across Lambeth to get critical mass in addressing issues of common concern.

    Arrest of local sex offender

Sgt Zissler has informed Dulwich Village SNP that Dulwich Wood SNT have arrested a man in respect of the sexual assaults in Belair Park, Dulwich Woods and Dulwich Park and Southwark Police are furthering the investigation. He thanked the community for their assistance during this period.

    Arrest of local car thieves

Extract from Lambeth Borough Commander’s newsletter last week: "West Dulwich Ward has a problem with Theft of Motor Vehicles (TOMV) and Theft from Motor Vehicles (TFMV), as a result of this PC WACHOWICZ who is the ward officer with the assistance of PC Blake from CID Proactive put together an Operation to help address the vehicle crimes on the ward.

The Operation was conducted during the nights of 27th June 2025 and 28th June 2025 which was supervised by PS Ofosu- Siaw; but led by PC WACHOWICZ. She was assisted by PC Blake, APS Singer-Ripley, PC Luck, PC Rodi, PC Lundi, PC Ahmet, PS Perkins, PC Hodkinson, PC Paulino and PC Ingold who had two arrests in one shift and managed to arrest the main suspect, while committing an offence.

The three suspects were in company of other 2 individuals in a vehicle parked outside properties, causing issues for the residents. Three knives were found during a search so they were arrested for possession of offensive weapon.

Officers are still working hard to reduce the crime in the local area and are planning further operation regarding this."

    Collation of Video Footage

The Doorbell Detectives - BBC iPlayer is now available to view. It was produced with inputs from Neighbourhood Watch participants across England and Wales but des not appear to have been officially endorsed or publicised – presumably to avoid police being inundated with unusable footage..

If you have footage you should call  999 if the incident is in progress or report on-line and then e-mail the local team with a link to the crime report and description of the footage you have. They can then send you a link to upload footage for collation. The e-mail for West Dulwich is WestDulwich@met.police.uk

I look forward to providing more detailed guidance but that will depend on receiving authoritative guidance or finding volunteers to help develop, test and document our own. I would prefer to avoid this.
