Male arrested for drug offences in Piccadilly Gardens

On Saturday 5th July 2024 at approximately 1900 hours officers were on patrol in Piccadilly gardens as part of OP Sycamore when a male rolling a suspicious looking cigarette drew their attention. The male was subsequently served a community resolution as a first warning and the cannabis was seized from his person. 

Whilst dealing with the above male his friend approached and proceeded to drop a bag of white powder in front of officers, he was subsequently searched and arrested. The white powder was tested and it was proven to be cocaine. 

It transpires the male in question is subject to a suspended sentence for a spate of robberies in and around Piccadilly Gardens in 2024. A condition of the sentence was that he engaged with drug and alcohol support services.

He has been charged with possessing a class A drug and remanded in police custody to attend court on 07/07/2025
