Piccadilly Gardens - Good News Story - Catch of the Day

It was a typically busy Sunday afternoon in Piccadilly Gardens - the air filled with the usual symphony of buskers, pigeons and hurried footsteps. But today, a different kind of tune was about to play – the sweet melody of justice, orchestrated by two of Greater Manchester Police's finest.

Whilst on routine patrol, PC’s Hare & Marothi made good use of their keen observational skills as they proved they are the “Guardians of the Gardens” managing to net a two-person crime wave that had made it's way inland from Blackpool by the sea. The duo ventured into the heart of Manchester City Centre, with a rap sheet longer than a seaside chippy. They were arrested having been shown as wanted on the Police National Computer for a staggering 31 offences combined!!

The male was wanted for 19 x Thefts and the female for 12 x Thefts, there was no dramatic car chase, no Hollywood theatrics – just the quiet, professional efficiency of neighbourhood policing. Before the duo could say “Big Dipper” they were in cuffs and off to custody.

Both these offenders will be held at Greater Manchester Police’s finest guest house where they will have bed and breakfast until colleagues from Lancashire Police are ready to collect the Catch of the Day!!
