Great Cornard Fête at The Stevenson Centre in Great Cornard

Kevin Graham the Great Cornard Coordinator and Mark Smith, Area Coordinator and Police Liaison for Suffolk Neighbourhood Watch set up a stall alongside Police Officers from Sudbury’s Community Policing Team at the recent Fête in Great Cornard.  

The event was very well attended and both the Neighbourhood Watch and police stands were very busy. Together we met lots of people, ranging from potential young recruits dressing up in police uniforms and exploring the riot van, to a number of people who were not altogether sure how Neighbourhood Watch actually works!

The key message they took away was that we are not busy bodies, but instead a contributing voluntary organisation that helps strengthen our communities.

At one point we had to leave the stands to go searching for a missing 2 year old who decided to go walk about. He was found enjoying the Bouncy Castle completely unaware of any drama!!
