Op Centurion - Accrington Town Centre

This afternoon and this evening, officers have been patrolling Accrington Town Centre on foot, targeting a range of community concerns including ASB, shoplifting, drug use and antisocial driving.

As part of these patrols, officers were able to…

  • Conduct two stop searches, seizing an amount of cannabis
  • Seize a vehicle being driven without insurance. The driver was issued with a report for summons for no insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence
  • Conduct multiple stake holder visits, offering reassurance to shops, businesses and customers alike
  • Deal with ASB occurring in public spaces, gaining details of those involved and taking appropriate action
  • Submit intelligence concerning offenders, enabling successful future targeting
