Scam alert/fraud

We are aware of a scam circulating in your area.

An elderly resident was nearly a victim of a scam on the telephone in Lydney. They were offered to purchase some medical equipment at a discounted rate due to them being a pensioner and that the person selling it was a health care professional nominated in their area to look after the elderly. The elderly resident had revealed a lot of personal information to this person not knowing it was a scam. The victim has become suspicious of the call and phoned their GP to see if the call would be genuine which it seemed unlikely it was. No money was given in this case and the scam reported to the relevant organisations.

Please help us raise awareness of this scam by informing your elderly or vulnerable relatives, friends and neighbours.
