Ward Panel Meeting Tonight 2nd July & Nursery Row Park

Dear Residents,

Thank you for attending the ward panel tonight.  It was a pleasure in meeting so many of you.  I have taken onboard what you have told myself and my officers about the problems in the area.  I am not going to let this rest.  I will be speaking with the Licensing Sergeant about the places selling alcohol and see about their licences revoked or at least restricted.  If I can ask you to please let me know the names of the premises again.  I am really concerned and upset that so many of you feel that you and your families don't feel that you can use or even walk through Nursery Row Park.  I hope that we can change this.  We will be looking at doing an event in the park aimed around preventing violence against women and girls but this will also be for the whole family.  Just like the event we held in Burgess park, I will get the Council involved in this as well.  I want all of us to Reclaim this Park back off of the men who think they control the area.

Can I please thank Nicola for taking on the role of Ward Chair and for you appointing her and also her new Deputy.  May I also take this time to thank Amanda for her work as ward chair over the last few years.
