Closure Notice

                       Good Afternoon

                   Officers from the Rossendale Neighbour Policing Team attended the Polish Shop, Deardengate, Haslingden yesterday. We issued the shop with a Closure Notice which will be in effect for 48 hours from issue. Officers will be attending Court on Wednesday Morning to apply for a Closure Order, which if successful will be issued to the shop the same day.

                  The current Closure Notice which is in effect means that only the owner of the shop or someone who permanently lives at the address is allowed access to the premises, no one else is allowed access.

                  If we are successful in applying for a Closure Order, this will mean once it has been issued, no one will be allowed access to the premises for a period of 3 months, effectively closing the shop down. 

                  The shop has failed numerous inspections by Trading Standards over the last few years and large quantities of illicit/illegal tobacco and vapes/e-cigarettes have been seized as part of these inspections. We have been supported in our efforts to close this shop by our partner agency, trading standards and also by the local high school, Haslingden High and the local county councillor.
