Arrests made in connection to Vehicle Crime

Dear Resident

Two people were arrested after police responded to reports that attempts were allegedly being made to steal motorbikes on St Albans Road in #HemelHempstead yesterday afternoon (Sunday 29 June).

Officers attended the Able Road area shortly after 1.30pm, quickly detaining a male for a search.

Following a search of several nearby gardens, a second male was detained a short time later and both males were arrested.

A knife and Class B drugs were located during the incident, as well as a pair of bolt cutters.

Thabile Tootoo, aged 18, of Pluto Rise, Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of a Class B drug (cannabis) and interference with a motor vehicle.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with interference with a motor vehicle.

Both have been released on bail, to appear before magistrates’ court on Friday 18 July.

We take reports of suspicious behaviour and motor vehicle theft seriously, so if you see something suspicious, or you think a crime is in progress please call us immediately on 999.

As always, thank you for reading.

Warm regards

James
