dangers of swimming in lakes or open waters

Hi all as the weather is in proving please make your children aware of swimming in open waters as it will soon be time for the summer holidays.

Water may be deeper than people think only swim where there is supervision or a lifeguard.

Water may look calm on the service but may have a fast current underneath.

The water may be very cold and can quickly cause cramp and breathing difficulties.

Cold water shock can paralyse your ability to move and kill within a minute.

Please if you see anyone in difficulty phone 999 and ask for fire and ambulance stay on the phone,

if possible throw something in to try to keep them afloat.

Please stay safe this summer and enjoy the holidays.
