Safer Neighbourhood Team attend the Broseley Town Council Surgery. |
||
Dear Resident, Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) Helen Scott and Malcolm Goddard attended the council surgery hosted by Broseley Town Council at the Broseley Library. Councillor Caroline Bagnall and two town Councillors, Roy Childs and Phil Revell, were present. The continuing issues regarding the new play area on the Birchmeadow Playing Fields and illegal riding of motorcycles around the town were discussed. Four riders have so far been identified and their parents will be receiving anti-social behaviour level 1 letters bringing the matter to their attention and advising them of the dangers that their children are putting themselves and others in and the options open to the Police to deal with the issue. If the behaviour continues the motorbikes can be seized by Officers and, if they are not reclaimed, they can be crushed. The new play equipment is in the process of being assembled and is not yet available for use. This is why it is secured behind temporary security fencing. The repeated incidents of youths and, in a number of cases, their parents breaking into the site has caused criminal damage to some of the equipment and is delaying the date when it will be open for use. To find details of how to contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, visit the Neighbourhood Matters website at www.neighbourhoodmatters.co.uk, and search using your postcode or street address. To report crime, please visit www.westmercia.police.uk. In an emergency, always dial 999. Kind regards, PCSO Malcolm Goddard | ||
