Neighbourhood Policing Week


So, we have just come to the end of #NeighbourhoodPolicingWeek 2025 and what a week its been. Your Wyre Neighbourhood Policing Team has been out and about, working with partners, high visibility patrol and conducting operations.

 

Each day carried a different theme:

 

  • Putting police back on the beat
  • Making NHP something to be proud of
  • Crackdown on shoplifting and violence in town centres
  • Putting communities back at the heart of policing
  • Zero tolerance on ASB
  •  

    So how has you local NHPT contributed to the week? Here’s the highlights:

     

  • Online Q&A conducted by the Wyre Neighbourhood Supervision Team
  • Podcast created with the team at One Fylde discussing Neighbourhood Policing
  • Police surgeries conducted across Wyre enabling members of the public to come and speak directly to their local NHP team
  • Visits and reassurance provided to retailers as part of Op Vulture (Operation dedicated to dealing with retail cime)
  • School visits conducted targeting road safety
  • Community Road watch conducted in areas highlighted as a concern by Lancashire Road Safety Partnership
  • Visits conducted with partners to addresses and people linked to ASB
  • Patrols conducted with colleagues from WBC targeting youth ASB
  • Social Media video posted giving an insight into the day in the life of PCSO Pete Atkinson from Garstang
  • Local shoplifter arrested for theft and breaching criminal behaviour order. Male sentenced to 8 months in prison
  • Local male arrested for breaching a civil injunction and given 6 months suspended prison sentence
  • Promotion of Lancashire Talking and In the Know
  • Commando Diversion targeting youth ASB
  • Drugs Dog operation across Wyre targeting licensed premises
  •
