Speeding in Bakewell

As part of our Road Safety priority, the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been speaking to our colleagues in CREST, otherwise known as the Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team.

Officers from CREST conducted a speed check on Baslow Road in Bakewell today between the hours of 10:45 and 1345.  During this time 20 vehicles were found to be travelling in excess of the 30 mph speed limit and will be receiving their notice of intended prosecution in the post in these next few days giving them the option of a Speed Awareness Course if they qualify.

These priorities were decided on after they were voted for by our local community in the Derbyshire Talking surveys and in direct communication with the team at our Street Meet events.  The priorities are due to be reviewed again at the end of this month and new priorities will be set for the upcoming quarter.

If you wish to “Have your say” on our priorities going forwards you stiil have time, please click on the following link to complete a short survey;
