The Priority Services Register is a free UK wide service which provides extra advice and support, including when there is an interruption to the electricity, gas or water supply.
Those eligible include: use medical equipment reliant on electricity or water are deaf or hard of hearing are blind or partially sighted loss or impairment of smell have a disability have anxiety, depression or any mental health condition need documents translated into another format or language live with children under five have a chronic illness are of pensionable age temporarily need extra support
Benefits include: a dedicated phone line for direct contact during a power cut A pre-agreed password for added security during home visits Assistance from trusted partners such as the British Red Cross if needed Advance notice of any planned power interruptions Regular updates and support during unplanned outages Access to emergency support services in collaboration with partners like the British Red Cross An On line home safety check provided by the fire services, offering a personalised fire safety plan Please note that anyone can complete the registration on behalf of the person in need.
