Police Seize Suspected Stolen Van Parts in Milnrow Operation

On 18th June 2025, a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) and a Neighbourhood Police Officer on foot patrol in Milnrow encountered a male acting suspiciously while attempting to load a Ford Transit van engine into the rear of another Transit van.

Upon investigation, officers discovered two engines in the vehicle and, given the recent spike in van thefts in the area, the male was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Further enquiries led officers to a nearby garage linked to the suspect, where they found a van believed to be stolen in the process of being dismantled. A second associated garage was also searched and found to contain a large quantity of suspected stolen Ford Transit parts.

Investigations are ongoing.

Greater Manchester Police continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activity and remain vigilant as efforts to tackle vehicle crime in the area continue.
