Anti-social behaviour - Illegal E-bikes

We are aware of incidents of antisocial behaviour in Cheltenham relating to E-bikes operating at illegal limits.

On 23/06/2025 PCSO Collins & PCSO Croft held a meeting at St Mary's church, High Street, Cheltenham and invited local riders to discuss the legislation around E-Bikes and the criteria they must hit to be LEGAL! It was a great turn out and discussed many challenges others may face but also how to keep each other safe overall. While there we provided the riders an opporunity to allow Police to test their bikes and provide feedback on what is required to be changed in order to not have their bike seized in the future.

To ensure that proactive action is being taken, we will be conducting an operation in the Town Centre in the coming weeks and will seize all bikes that fail to comply with the criteria set out in the legislation. If you have any concerns or questions please look to research this and look at the attached leaflets.

If you witness any further incidents of antisocial behaviour, please report it online here: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/ro/report/asb/af/antisocial-behaviour/ Always call 999 in an emergency.

Please note, we're unable to accept reports of crime through Your Neighbourhood Alerts.
